Cali Post #16:10 PM
It's been about a month a couple days since I've moved here to California.
It still hasn't came to mind that I'm actually LIVING IN LA.. The City of Angels! It's just unbelievable to me that fresh out of high school I moved 1400 miles away from home. Honestly it was amazing for the first couple days until my parents left to go back to Texas. I was such a hot mess and driving back to my apartment that morning was so difficult. Then things started to get better and I started boding more with my three other roommates. I would say we get along pretty well and that we're close with each other. Recently I've been feeling left out of the group so then I get all upset and it just makes me think more and more into things like being homesick which I should't. So I try so hard to put a smile on my face and just go with the flow. I have to remember that I'm not on vacation out here and I can't get whatever I want; I have to sacrifice as well. But then I don't know if they have the same mindset as I do about we have to be here for each other, no leaving ANYONE out, and just making yourself an everyone else happy. This is literally like living the dream out here and I cannot wait to see what it has in store for me. I'm going to a community college out here and hope to transfer in a year and a half or two years. I looked into FIDM a couple years ago and it's popped into my mind again recently so that could be an option for me as well. I want to be in the business/communications aspect of Fashion PR. I haven't met a lot of people out here but I need to just go out there with confidence and go up to people instead of me just waiting for them to come up to me. I miss my parents so much and I hope they're doing well at home. I miss my dog and cat as well, hence my dog is almost fourteen years old and pretty much blind; I just pray nothing bad happens while I'm away. I also have so many funny stories from being here already; all the way from TRYING to hike to the Hollywood sign with my roommate Ashley.... We happen to take the hardest route at sunset and failed haha. Then all the way to going to the GrayStone Manor nightclub in West Hollywood and having producers let us in with a table and service. It was such an amazing feeling just to feel like we are apart of these people here of LA. I wake up every morning laying in bed, then getting up and make myself some coffee and breakfast. I just sit here and imagine what my life has in store for me in these next couple months but also in these next couple years! I don't get to go home for Thanksgiving but I will for sure go home for Christmas, and be back here for New Years because I want to see what it is like here for that time of the year! And also today I got a tattoo at The Honorable Society in West Hollywood; I got the words "Salt. Sand. Sun" due to two meanings. One for me growing up and being raised on StCroix in the USVI and then also moving all the way from Texas to LA . I could go on and on about all of this but I'm sure there will be many more posts coming about my experiences out here in California. Xoxo
